Dr. Steven Kaplan, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Kaplan completed his graduate studies at The University of Wisconsin in 1981. He has taught a variety of courses in graduate and undergraduate programs, as both a full-time and ad hoc faculty member. He has lectured in Ireland and Bosnia, as well as across the United States on topics related to mental health, brain injury, and rehabilitation.
Most of Dr. Kaplan’s career has focused on providing outpatient mental health services. He helped to develop and maintain a private practice in the Fox Valley, where he worked for approximately 30 years. He also consulted on a number of topics with Wisconsin-based group homes, attorneys, businesses, and prisons.
Dr. Kaplan is experienced, highly skilled, and knowledgeable in the treatment of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, and several areas of psychological testing. At JB Behavioral Health, Dr. Kaplan’s role is to provide evaluations, determine psychological diagnoses, and help therapists develop useful treatment plans for their clients.
Dr. Kaplan is an author of multiple publications centered around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rehabilitation Psychology and has been the humble recipient of various awards in his impressive career. He has dedicated his career to enhancing the lives of many individuals and colleagues throughout the years and is well respected by his clientele, colleagues, and community partners.
Dr. Kaplan has been married for over 40 years. His family includes three adult children, five grandchildren, and three fur babies. His hobbies include woodworking, playing with dogs, and reading.
